Bank foreclosure refers to the process of a bank repossessing a home in which the person who borrowed money for the property could not keep up with the required payments. When borrowing money the borrower will have put up their real estate as collateral and a consequent lien will have been placed on the property which allows the lending bank to legally take possession of the property in case of a default in repaying the loan.
